An open-source interface protocol for driving LED matrix displays — animations from file or live from Toublo, transported over LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or serial cable.
Aurinko is an interface protocol for LED matrices using serial data streams. Animation data is generated in three ways: live from the Toublo editor, from .cpaf animation files, or from real-time video sources. The generated datastream can be transported over LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or serial cables — and displayed on compatible hardware via microcontroller, or converted to other formats using Ledbridge.
Active development has since been discontinued. The protocol has practical limits: overhead compared to direct drawing functions, and inefficiency for very-low-resolution displays. It continues to be used internally for communication between Toublo and Ledbridge.
