He[a]rophone is a mobile listening station designed and built together with students of the Musikmittelschule Eggenburg. The project brings the act of focused listening into the school space — a physical object that invites you to sit down, plug in, and listen.
The station was conceived as a collaborative making project: students participated in the design process, building parts of the electronics and contributing to the casing. The result is a piece that belongs to the school community in the most literal sense.
The name plays on "hear" and "headphone", referencing both the acoustic experience and the tool you use to have it.
