Light Night City Ride
Electricity from pedal power, the city as a screen, the audience as director — a nocturnal bicycle journey through Vienna projecting community wishes onto building facades.
Created with the CycleCinemaClub for Urbanize! Festival on 12 October 2013. Participants gathered at Schwendermarkt around 9:30 pm, departing from festival headquarters at Hundsturm (Margaretenstrasse 166) for a night ride through the city.
Along the route, audience-submitted wishes were projected onto building facades and concrete walls — all powered by bicycle pedals. Participants sent their messages — about housing, gentrification, the city they wanted — and the city itself became the screen. The laser projection and wish-display software was custom-built for the event.
